in Indore (MadhyaPradesh).
studied upto B.Com only at Calcutta
. Joined father's wholesale trade in Calcutta in
1973-74.
shifted
to salem in 1975-76 and started
his work as a broker of sago,
starch, turmeric etc. from Salem and Erode to various
parts of India.
appointed
one of the five selling agents of Sagoserve,
Salem in 1982-83 (in its crisis time, immediately after
incorporation) to market their members' sago - starch products
in all over India(about
500 to 550 members at that time)
. Achieved high reputation in quality
maintenance and delivery timings amongst buyers.
in 1984,after
termination of agency by The Sagoserve, started own family business as Sabu
traders with very small capital. started purchase-sale
of sago and SABUDANA papad (known as APPALAM locally), starch
and other allied products. launched small packing of sago in
one kg and 500 gms in polythene packets. registered under Agmark
(for the first time in India for sago) with the aim to
serve with highest quality in sago to The end-consumers.
Served
salem starch and sago merchants' association for various years
as honorary joint secretary, honorary
secretary, vice-president, president and executive committee
member.
at the same time, continuing as Sabu
suppliers (purely brokerage and commission business)
for direct suppliers of the market.
with
co-operation of brothers (residing at Indore and doing
wholesale trade of sago and other items as m/s.
Shiv trading company ) and family members, incorporated
Sabu export salem pvt. ltd. having
registered office in salem to try developing export of
sago-starch from India.
contacted several prospective buyers & visited U.A.E.
in 1994-95 and got order first time to export sago
directly from salem in containers. completed the order with
full satisfaction of Buyers.
in
1996-97, gave the responsibility to his son vikash
Sabu after his graduation to look after Sabu traders
& other family business.
started
selling fine tapioca starch (we can say best available quality
of tapioca starch in the country, currently in 1999) of m/s.
Spac tapioca products (India) ltd., Erode from January 1999 on
commission basis. Also, learning Operating Computer, authoring
webpages etc. & the result of this hobby is current
website, which is purely for developing knowledge about Sago,
Starch & Other Tapioca Products.

short, dedicated to sago trade and industry and trying to
learn more regularly from all sections of the trade as buyers,
manufacturers, Executives, Agents, brokers or any person, who
knows some thing about sago-starch.
